Changelog

Dated changes to the AOI‑CLI specification and this site, newest first. The commit history on GitHub has the line‑by‑line detail.

  1. Site overhaul

    Site
    • New brand: paper and ink, Archivo, the switch mark, one red band per page. The garlic logo is retired.
    • New pages: /code-mode, /mcp, /compare, /glossary, /faq and this changelog.
    • The survey moved from /landscape to /state-of-cli-output; the old address redirects.
    • Every page now has its own canonical URL, social card and structured data, and llms.txt follows the llmstxt.org format.
    • Copy edited throughout for plain, specific language. The specification received punctuation and editorial edits, and its § 19.4 example now follows the § 8.1 rule for tool-specific fields; no requirement changed.
    • Every example on /examples now passes a conformance check: contiguous seq per run, distinct run ids per invocation, counters that add up, and tool-specific fields under properties.
  2. Survey counts corrected

    Data
    • Findings had cited 22 surveyed tools against 16 published rows. They now match the rows: 10 of 16 tools carry a type field, in 9 spellings; 1 of 16 ends with an explicit success boolean.
    • Four tools, not two, have three of the four basics: cargo, terraform, git trace2 and pytest-reportlog.
    • gh offline discovery recorded as partial: it lists field names offline but publishes no types.
  3. AOI-CLI v1.0-alpha

    Spec
    • Breaking change from v0.2: framework fields move into a reserved aoi object on every event.
    • Error taxonomy rewritten: a closed category list, retryable required and authoritative, retry_after_ms defined, temporary renamed unavailable, partial removed.
    • A final line without a newline now counts as truncated; reason is required when ok is false.
    • The spec splits into a normative core (Part I) and a recommended profile (Part II).
    • Machine‑checkable schema published at /schemas/aoi-events-1.0-alpha.json.
  4. Foundations and factors

    Site
    • The home page becomes a descriptive foundations document built on ten factors, with the prescriptive spec kept separate.
    • Relationship to Stainless and other OpenAPI code generators added to Direction.
  5. First public draft, v0.2

    Spec
    • AOI-CLI published with the site, along with minimal implementations in five languages and the tools registry.
    • Framework event types take the aoi: prefix; source, transformer and sink vocabulary added.
    • Direction page added for session mode, wire formats, other profiles and the coreutils gap.
